Arkham Origins Gets A Multiplayer Mode, Xbox One Compatibility and Nintendo Revenue Down

Good morning everyone.

Happy Hump Day!

Today we got a surprise trailer for Arkham Origins, Microsoft has confirmed that the Xbox One will be compatible with current-gen headsets and Nintendo's quarterly revenue has gone down.

Let's begin with Batman.

Arkham Origins Multiplayer

Earlier this morning a trailer was uploaded to the internet that revealed the next Batman game is going to have multiplayer.

3 v 3 v 2.

Two teams of 3 are battling each other while two players will play as Batman and Robin. Batman and Robin are hunting down both teams while said teams are hunting down the other.

I assume that both teams are fighting each other for a chance to take out the Dynamic Duo, whichever team is standing to take out the Dynamic Duo wins. At least that's my theory on the multiplayer.

Xbox One Compatible with Current-Gen Headsets

Microsoft confirms that Xbox One owners will be able to use their current-gen and third-party gaming headsets with the upcoming console using an adapter designed by Microsoft, the company's lead planner for Xbox One Alberto Penello confirmed on Twitter.

"Yes, we will have an adapter that allows current gaming headsets to work."

The adapter will not be bundled with the console, however. This follows confirmation from Microsoft last month that the Xbox One base system would not include a headset, despite being made available to purchase separately in retail stores at launch.

A Microsoft representative said..

"The Wireless Controller has been redesigned to allow for higher data transfer speed between the controller and the console, this also required creating a new expansion port design for headsets and future controller add-on devices which is different from a standard audio plug input. Xbox Plans to develop solutions in the near future to allow consumers to connect many brands of wired gaming headsets to the Wireless Controller for gaming and chat audio."

You can pre-order headsets for the Xbox One right now for $24.99

Nintendo Reports Show Revenue Has Gone Down

Source:http://www.engadget.com/2013/07/31/nintendo-reports-quarterly-revenue-down/?utm_medium=feed&utm_source=Feed_Classic&utm_campaign=Engadget

Nintendo revealed the consolidated results for the April to June quarter, and they show a significant 3.8 percent decline in sales compared to the same quarter last year.

The Wii U sold 160,000 units during the quarter, less than half of the units shifted between January and March. Nintendo's projections for the device and its hope of selling nine million units by March 2014, are now a distant dream.

Although the console is not selling, a million Wii U games were sold and 1.4 million 3DS handhelds. In addition, the year-over-year fall in revenue was much smaller than the one Nintendo suffered in Q2 2012, operating loss was much smaller too, just under five billion yen in the red.

Factoring in all the company's various sources of income, it managed to eke out a net profit of 8.6 billion yen, or $88 million.

Starting with the Arkham Origins Multiplayer.

I'm quite interested to see how an Arkham multiplayer mode plays out, at the same time though I am concerned.

Arkham games have been single player only, this current-gen has seen sequels to single-player games that had an added multiplayer and those multiplayer modes have not exactly been the best.

*cough* Bioshock 2 and Assassin's Creed Brotherhood *cough*

The Xbox One article.

Good information for anyone looking to save some coin for next-gen, however now the question present is how much is the Adapter going to cost?

It's good to know that there is a way for players to use their current headsets for the next-gen but how much is it going to cost?

Finally the Nintendo Article.

I still love Nintendo, I'm planning on getting a Wii U later this year.

Putting my love for Nintendo aside, guys, start stepping up.

Yes you have some good exclusives coming out this year and later next year but there needs to be more. Games that will attract Xbox players and Playstation players. It's good to still be making games for the Nintendo faithful but there needs to be more games and more reasons to buy a Wii U.

If I was never a Nintendo fan and never played Nintendo consoles in the past, at this point in time there is nothing encouraging me to buy a Wii U.

Thank you guys for reading.
