Custom PS4, Gamestop Trade-Ins and John Romero

In this post of news articles I think I've got a pretty interesting selection of articles to talk about today. There is  a special edition PS4 that is up for auction to support an LGBT group in Sweden. Many Gamestop customers don't know about Gamestop's trade-ins and John Romero gives his thoughts on PC v Console and the free-to-play model. This custom PS4 is currently on auction this week to support the Swedish Federation for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer Rights(RFSL). The auction for the console has already reached a bid of two thousand dollars. The auction for this special edition console will be closing on August 2nd. Webhallen has posted about the console and the post has been translated to be say

DOOM Reboot, BF Hardline Delay and Dragon Age:Inquisition Romance

Before I begin I would like to apologize to everyone about when I said I would be returning to my 3 news stories posts a long time ago. I didn't stay true to my word and I hope you all will still read these posts. With that said, I'm not going to be reporting daily news all the time. In fact, some of these articles are from a few days ago. These are going to be stories that I've found interesting and I'll share with you the story and my thoughts on the story. Let's begin with something that I'm really upset that those of us who didn't go to Quakecon didn't see. Won't See the DOOM Reboot for awhile..... Source:http://www.gamespot.com/articles/doom-reboot-unlikely-to-be-seen-again-this-year/1100-6421227/ For those of you lucky folk who went to Quakecon, you were able to see a 20 minute demonstration of the reboot of the DOOM series. Unfortunately for the rest of us, we're probably not going to see it at all this year. Pete

Thoughts on the Destiny Beta

If you pre-ordered Destiny you got access to the Destiny Beta. For Playstation 3 or 4 owners, we got access to the Beta this past Thursday. Everywhere you go on the internet that involves gaming has been talking nonstop about how awesome the beta is. So here's some more talk about how awesome the beta is. What I've enjoyed about the Beta thus far has been how much fun it is to partake in missions with other players or to explore the world in search of enemies and loot. I've gotten excited at the sight of Encrypted Engrams with an image of armor or weaponry being blurred out not knowing exactly what I was getting. The massive amount of exploration in the game has  let my curiosity take hold of me and travel around Old Russia to find different locations that I've never been in and fighting off a big group of enemies that might drop an awesome weapon or better piece of armor. I swear there's a cave somewhere in Old Russia that has some awesome assault

What Games Do Need

I made a small list of things that a video game does not need. Here's the link if you want to read it before reading this post http://gazettegamerreviews.blogspot.com/2014/06/what-games-dont-need.html So this list, like the list prior. Is mostly going to be things that I personally feel current and future video games need. Time To Be Developed  Some games being made out there are made with 2 years of development. Or games being rushed to hit store shelves just to make coin quickly and have clueless gamers pick-up the next installment in the CoD series thinking they have picked up a "new" Call of Duty game. If the game takes 4-5 years to develop or more. Develop it, don't rush out your project only for profit and instead work on the game you're making to make sure the game you are working on comes out exactly the way you, the developer, want it to be when the game is finished. Not  how quickly the publisher wants the game to be finished. I'

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag Review

I have renewed faith in the AC series after Black Flag. Sure AC3 brought back some faith but I think Black Flag has really done it. Set sail my friends This is Assassin's Creed Black Flag Exploring The West Indies I chose to go with the PS4 version of Black Flag(mostly because I barely had any games for the console) and the first thing that struck me was how amazing the game looked. Bright beaches, crystal clear seas, lush forests and many exotic locations. There is a mind boggling amount of locations to explore from small settlements across the West Indie seas, big towns like Havana, small islands and sunken ships with treasure to be found in the wrecks. The game has a lot of rewards for players that stray from the beaten path and instead go on their own adventures throughout the open seas. In fact the game lets you explore the world as much as you want without really limiting you on where you can or cannot go. You could spend nearly half a dozen hours tra
