Destiny 2 is not Free to Play

When you hear "Free to Play" the first things that immediately pop into your head is a game that is very repetitive, very grind and heavy with microtransactions. Every time you turn around the game is asking for money for access to certain quests, certain weapons and outfits.  Fortnite is probably the game that most of you probably think of when you hear "Free to Play". A game that asks players for money at every point for the Battle-Pass, the emotes, the outfits, the weapon skins etc. etc.  However, there are free to play titles like Warframe. Warframe is probably the gold standard of free to play titles. It is a game that while yes offers microtransactions for many of it's in game items and special goods. A lot of what the game offers is completely free. You can make it from expansions to expansion without paying a penny for better gear, better warframes to take on combatants. You can grind for as long as you'd like to getting better gear and you will righ...

Destiny 2: The Witch Queen Review: A Step in the Right Direction

So if  you have read my past posts about Destiny 2 or really heard any honest yet faithful Destiny fan, it should be no surprise that Destiny is a hard game to love not only privately but also publicly. Privately, many a player such as myself can play the game but think often at times "Man I could be playing Final Fantasy 14 or ANY other game right now but I just want to play this right now and use space magic to find a new awesome space gun to fight space monsters". Publicly, anyone finds out you're a Destiny fan then it's like people want to conduct an intervention to help you with your unfortunate fascination with this game.  To be honest I get where they come from in not understanding how anyone could be a fan of the game. Since the original Destiny launch back in 2014 the game has not had the best reputation. Players would leave in droves either due to the incredibly disappointing and frustrating RNG loot system, the daunting amount of grind players would have t...

Resident Evil 3 REmake: Something is Missing....

The Resident Evil 2 REmake was not only a good game but it was also a good remake. It stayed true to the original and introduced the same monsters and characters while introducing new elements to the game that made it feel like an entirely new game. In 2019, for many, it was a contender for Game of the Year and it was very deserving of such a consideration.  Fast forward to the following year and it was announced that Resident Evil 3 was being remade. Finally, another long awaited Resident Evil REmake and especially after the last remake there was understandable hype to be felt and of course looking back at the last few Capcom releases: Resident Evil 7, Monster Hunter World and the Resident Evil 2 REmake, this was going to be another outstanding release from Capcom. Then reports came out... It was revealed that the approach to the REmake was instead of telling the story of Resident Evil 3 like in the original with branching paths and dynamic story telling, RE3 Remake was going to t...

Fallout 4(XB1) Review

This is a super late to the party review! I sat on this review for awhile because it took me awhile to complete the main story with a faction of the Commonwealth and I also wanted to wait until Mods were released and how they worked out. With both of those checked off the list and a calculated 3 days and 23 hours put into the game, both regular and modded Fallout 4 delivers on a more immersive RPG survival game with many changes and improvements to aspects of the Fallout series but is lacking in certain areas. Welcome to the Commonwealth! Fallout 4 begins on the day the bombs fell, the day when the world panicked in order to scramble towards the vaults to stay safe from the nuclear holocaust above. Our main character is put on ice, frozen until the world has been rebuilt. We all unfortunately know how the world rebuilding thing goes... Mean while our character is frozen, out of nowhere two strangers are seen breaking into the vault and kidnapping our infant son away fr...

DOOM(2016) PS4 Review

This is very much a late to the party review seeing as how DOOM was released a month ago and I didn't finish the game until a few days ago but I'm here now to review the game and oh man oh man was this a fun experience. If this game had been released back in the nineties you can be sure parents would have flipped their lid even more with the fact that this game exists. This is DOOM The Invasion of Mars For those of us that have played the original DOOM games (DOOM to DOOM 64) there has never been much of a story. You were just a marine that happened to be the soul survivor on the UAC base during a demonic invasion and fighting your way through the base all the way into the depths of Hell. DOOM 2016 introduces a story and a new origin story for the DOOM marine. The story goes over what the UAC was doing on Mars, how the invasion happened and who exactly the DOOM marine is. What I like about the story is that it's totally optional to what you want from your DO...

GazetteGamerReviews Update

Good morning folks. This is an update post about what's going to be happening with the blog and what reviews will be posted later in time. College for me is starting again tomorrow and I have more classes then the last time I was there, so that means I'll have less free time to post news updates and reviews. Right now I'm playing three games for review. Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past Dead Rising 2 And Ghostbusters: The Video Game I'm not going to be finishing them in any particular order or by a certain time, they'll be done when they're done. I don't want to rush through the games just for the sake of review to move on to other games, no I want to start from the beginning and make it to the end. Also what some of you may have noticed is the change in template for the blog. I changed it back for the easier customization of the background for the blog to give it more of a personal touch, Dynamic Views didn'...

Dying Light What do you get when you combine Mirrors Edge with Dead Island? This. Dying Light looks really cool, this is going on the list of games to play next gen for sure. I also suggest watching the trailer for Dying Light featuring Woodkid's song "Run Boy Run" It's a really cool trailer with a really good song. Looking forward to it. Grand Theft Auto Online Gameplay I must admit, I've never played Grand Theft Auto before. With all these new trailers to GTA V and GTA Online, I NEED to get this game for sure. Collecting cars, riding bi...

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (2006) Review

Good afternoon everyone. I have decided to begin a marathon review of my entire Legend of Zelda collection. A Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess, I will play each game in random order however. I finished Twilight Princess an hour ago so let's begin. Story Taking place one century after Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask, we meet our hero Link in the peaceful forest province of Ordon where he is working as a ranch hand, who has been given the task to present a gift from the village to the Princess of Hyrule. Before Link is set to deliver the gift, strange things have been happening in the forest outside of the village, mysterious creatures and sounds coming from deep within. During this time the village is attacked, the children kidnapped and Link left to try and save the kids. Link however discovers that the forest is blocked by a wall of darkness, he is taken into the world to somehow be transformed into a beas...

PS4 To Not Generate A Loss Like The PS3 and Xbox One No Longer Requires Kinect

Good afternoon folks. Once again Microsoft has changed something about the Xbox One, it involves the Kinect and Andrew House is expecting that Sony will not be generating losses like the losses generated with the PS3. Let's begin with begin. PS4 Losses Unlike PS3 Losses Source: http://www.gamespot.com/news/sony-not-expecting-ps3-like-losses-for-ps4-6412760 Sony Computer Entertainment CEO Andrew House said that Sony will not be expecting a loss that was generated by the PS3. "We will not generate anything like the losses we did for the PlayStation 3"  Mr.House told Bloomberg. A report on the losses generated from the PS3, Sony lost more than 3.5 billion dollars in 2007 and 2008 after the PS3 launched in 2006 for 600 dollars. CEO Kazuo Hirai has said the system did not become profitable until late 2011. Sony aims to avoid PS3-like losses for the PS4 in part due to a smaller investment in the PS4 relative to the PS3, CFO Masaru Kato said on a recent...

Xbox One Unboxing, PS Plus Not Required For Game DVR and Black Ops 2 DLC

Good evening Today was a very interesting day for gaming news about the Xbox One and PS4. Quite exciting actually with some new revelations about both consoles, oh and yeah the last thing I wanted to talk about was the last piece of DLC coming to Black Ops 2, not for the multiplayer maps in the DLC but for what the new zombie map is going to be. So thanks for joining me today(welcome back for those who read my post on Pat Robertson) Let's begin. Major Nelson unboxes The Xbox One Today a video was released today, showing Major Nelson of Xbox unboxing the contents of the Xbox One. In the unboxing he surprised viewers to announce that the Xbox One wired headset will be boxed in with the Day One Edition and Standard edition of the Xbox One. Nothing is really unexpected here(except for the security lock, headset and sticker) The surprise though was that both Day One and Standard Edition bundles of the Xbox One would be getting the mono chat headset, previousl...
