Something Advanced Warfare Needs to Do

I dislike COD a lot mostly due to the fact that it is the same game every year. No matter what they name the next entry in the series, no matter how many new weapons they add or even new perks. Deep down, it is the same game like last year and the year before that. Even the graphics are the same as last year but given the most miniscule of updates in the graphics. The newest title announced in the painfully long series of COD titles is Advanced Warfare. As soon as this game was announced I already had a huge lack of confidence within the game being good or being new. Advanced Warfare hasn't been giving me anything to really convince me that they're going to try anything really new with the game. Advanced Warfare's presentation at E3 I think has really hurt the game. First and foremost, it was boring. The guy playing was probably told to demonstrate the game in a certain way, I understand that.  But someone seems to think that the best way to demonstrate th

Top 5 Companions from Video Games

Once in a while we are given a traveling buddy or side-kick in a video game to help us on our quest to save the world. These companions help us greatly and make the journey to the end either easier or more enjoyable due to these helpful and loveable characters. So here are the (in my opinion) 5 best of  companions from video games! It's no particular order or rank. It's just a list of 5 companions which I think are the best of 'em all. Number 5 Lydia from Skyrim! Ah yes, your very first companion in Skyrim, Lydia. She's appointed to be your partner(or housecarl if I remember correctly) after helping the town of Whiterun. After that she's there to carry all the extra junk you can't carry, help take on bandits, wolves, dragons, frostbite spiders, falmer and draugr. In fact, most of the time she's the first one to run in to the fight! Even when there's a dragon she runs in ready to slice up a dragon with her sword! It was nice to know

My 5 Favorite Songs from Games

You all have that music bug that you find after listening to a particular song from a video game right? Don't lie, you know you do. We have those certain songs from video games that we like so much that even find ways to get the songs onto our MP3s and iPods. Some songs on this list are actually some I have on my iPod. So here are my favorite songs from games. Number 5 In the original Bioshock once you reach the underwater garden known as Arcadia. There is a bridge which you must cross which has gasoline spilt on it and a Splicer who is shooting at you from a balcony in the corner. Out of nowhere a song plays over the speaker system and it's Django Reinhardt's cover of the song Jitterbug Waltz. This is one of my favorites because to me, it has that right blend of acoustic guitar and violin. Which seems to be a common aspect in most of the music of Bioshock. To me, it's also very relaxing. You could be doing almost anything with this song playi

Deadpool Review

I'm not a big comic book reading and I've really never known who Deadpool was until X-Men Origins Wolverine, Ultimate Spiderman and of course my friend who introduced me to Deadpool. I remember when this game was first announced, people we're flooding internet comments with joy about how awesome it is that Deadpool is finally getting his own video game. Then the game came out and got the same review of "ok." In my experience...I think that's the appropriate summary for this game. Presentation The graphics of the game are pretty decent, Deadpool does look really good but throughout the game you're not really going to be exploring anywhere that blows you away at how cool it looks. You see your assortment of standard rich villain buildings, sewers and ruins of an abandoned society. It's not that impressive. However, there are moments in which the game will surprise you with things like an old 8-bit designed level which is a result from De

Need For Speed Rivals Review

I've never really been a huge race game fan, at least, outside of Mario Kart. I've played Hydro Thunder, Cruisin USA, F-Zero GX, S.C.A.R.S and some Need for Speed games. This Need For Speed aims to change how we experience Need For Speed with a heavy focus on online multiplayer in an open world. The result? Meh..... Presentation Need For Speed Rivals uses the Frostbite 3 Engine, the same engine used to power Battlefield 4. The game looks really good in terms of visuals. Cars have a very good amount of detail and for anyone who enjoys the sight of fancy and shiny cars, it's pure eye candy. Nothing is better to a car nut, than seeing sleek and smooth cars with the proper designs. Environments are nice, but honestly, you're not really going to be paying attention to the world around you. You see some desert areas, massive forests, uptown locations and some country locations with a nice view of lakes or some gas stations lying around. Gameplay

Battlefield 4 Weapon Guides: MK 11 Mod 0

Battlefield 4 introduced us to a new class of weapon, DMRs. Aka, Designated Marksman Rifles. Semi-Auto rifles meant for medium and long range engagements. For BF3 veterans, every semi-auto sniper rifle from BF3 got their own class. This is the MK 11 Mod 0 in Battlefield 4. Stats Source:http://symthic.com/bf4-weapon-info?w=MK11_MOD_0 The MK11 Mod 0 is the 2nd DMR of the DMR Weapon Class. The class itself is unlocked when you reach a score of 13k using the Recon Kit. The MK11 Mod 0 is unlocked at a DMR score of 4k. The damage is on par with every other DMR in class(except the SKS). A minimum damage of 38 and a maximum damage of 45. The damage does not start to drop to it's minimum until 15 meters and it doesn't drop to it's minimum until 80 meters. The fire rate is slow at only 260 RPM. Reload speed is good at 1.85 seconds with rounds still left in the magazine and 2.4 seconds when the magazine has been emptied. The magazine is also pretty good at

5 Characters I Absolutely Hate from Video Games

We all have a list of people we absolutely despise. Characters that we either want to die or can't wait until they die. For whatever reason it is, we can't stand them and we get annoyed by the mere mention of their name. You hate them and I hate them. So here are the list of characters that I absolutely hate from those games. Number 5 Handsome Jack from Borderlands 2 This guy may have had some funny moments in the game and made me laugh but I hate this guy to death!!!! All the time I was playing Borderlands 2 I kept thinking "How am I going to kill this guy? Rocket Launcher to the face or one good shot from a Jakobs revolver?" Either way I was hoping to get to be able to deliver the Coup De Grace. He's just the biggest asshole you've ever met in a video game. He forced his daughter at a young age to go from little girl into his own super powered Siren machine, kills innocent people and calls himself "The Hero." I of course have

Consistency in Video Games

Call of Duty is a very well known franchise.  Call of Duty is well known because many many gamers go out and buy it every year and it's also well known for being the same game year after year, after year, after year. Even though gamers consistently demand innovation and change from the series, we don't  get innovation or change from the series. Call of Duty Ghosts is the prime example of that demand going unanswered. So why do we continue to play a game that is constantly the same  in it's formula year after year? Because of it's Consistency. Consistency is a big part of the video game experience. As gamers, we are divided in our feelings towards Consistency. We love it in certain ways and we hate it in other ways. We love certain types of consistency and hate certain types of consistency. We do love a game that is constantly giving us something new to do or new enemies to face. New weapons or unlockables to discover and use in the game. We do hate consiste

Wolfenstein: The New Order Review

In most cases an FPS game has a story merely glued into the game to give a hint of reason as to why the heroes and villains of the story are acting the way they are. What they believe in and what they despise, however, most FPS games are not like Wolfenstein. Wolfenstein: The New Order takes players through an alternate time in history where the Nazis won World War II. The United States has been left scarred through atomic bombs and the world is now controlled by the Nazis. With gameplay that is designed for both new FPS players and experienced FPS players. Presentation I played Wolfenstein on the Playstation 4 and to be quite honest, it's not really that impressive. Interesting, but not impressive. It did look good, weapons looked sleek and had detail with things like the rail for other attachments or the body of certain weapons like the Marksman rifle and Assault Rifles. Ultimately though, I felt that this world was kind of bland, in most cases. Certain things did

Top 5 Enemies That Scared Me in Video Games

At some point and time in our gaming lives we stumble across some horrifying enemies in games. We know at some point we're going to have to face them and we cannot find a way to avoid confrontation with these nightmares. I have a few of those enemies in mind. Enemies that I absolutely could not face without trembling and could not face without pressing buttons in a panic to speed up the fight. These are the Top 5 Enemies That Scared Me in Video Games Number 5 Chozo Ghosts from Metroid Prime In Metroid Prime you go to the planet of Tallon IV. The planet has been hit by a strange meteor that unleashes this element known as Phazon into the planet. What results is the planet slowly dying and the creatures of the planet mutating into horrifying creatures. What has also happened is that somehow the spirits of the once native population, the Chozo. Have become ghosts and attack anything on sight. Why are they scary to me? How did they scare me? Whenever y

What Games Do Not Need

More often than nought after a game is released and the result of the finished product is a game with many flaws or seems to be missing certain aspects that could have made the experience in the game better. We say "This game needed....." or "This game should have had a....." , "This game is missing...." etc. etc. But when does a game not need something? When does a game have something in it that ultimately the game could have gone without? Now before I go on I want you all to know that this is all opinion based. These are things I PERSONALLY BELIEVE. Are things that games do not need. Let's begin with something that I think is at the forefront of what a game does not need. Sex Appeal Take a game like Bayonetta for instance. To be honest, yes I did like seeing the figure of Bayonetta. Did I think it was needed? No. The game was so fun and enjoyable, Bayonetta could've been the video game equivalent of Velma from Scooby-Doo

Are You Learning Anything From Video Games?

We as gamers spend many hours of our day playing video games. We take to our consoles or our PCs to spend hours playing games like Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed, Battlefield and Skyrim. But are we learning anything from our experiences? In certain games I think we are learning something. In most games, we're not truly learning anything. Take the Assassin's Creed series. A series based on going back through history and experiencing certain time periods. Assassin's Creed II with Renaissance Italy, Assassin's Creed III with the time of the American Revolution and Assassin's Creed IV at the time when piracy was very much alive. Players are learning something. In particular moments throughout the game, either by completing certain missions or exploring certain areas of the world, players would get a message that the database has been updated. These updates would contain information on historical architectures and landmarks that many people today still talk

Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel Review

I haven't been a huge fan of Army of Two but I have played the first and second game. Liked it, but it wasn't something that I would jump up and go buy. The Devil's Cartel is the third entry into the Army of Two series and it introduces us to two new characters of the TWO organization. Alpha and Bravo. What then results is a good co-op experience but nothing groundbreaking. Presentation The graphics to Army of Two are decent at best. It's not anything that stands out or amazes you in how the game looks. Even the weapons have this rather bland design to them. You have an extensive list of camos to choose from but nothing that will really make your gun pop out. The character facial animations and designs are rather ugly and sometimes don't look right. It seems very sloppily designed. Oh and the color pallet is nothing to be excited about either. Brown.....brown everywhere...... Gameplay Thankfully the gameplay makes up for the lackluster graph

Battlefield 4 Weapon Guides: ACE 23 Assault Rifle

This is one of those guns that you just cannot put down. Even though there may be a bajillion other guns to use in the game, you just cannot stop using this gun in particular. This is the ACE 23 assault rifle in Battlefield 4. Stats The assault rifle member of the ACE family of rifles in Battlefield 4, the ACE 23 is unlocked when you complete the assignment "Assault Expert." The requirements of the challenge is as follows: 50 Medkit Ribbons, 200 kills with any assault rifle and you must earn 10 Assault Rifle Ribbons. Stats wise the ACE 23 is on par most assault rifles in certain aspects; the damage for instance.  Eighteen damage minimum at a distance and 25 maximum up close. Damage drop-off begins at 8 meters and completely falls down to the minimum 18 past 55 meters. Rate of fire is relatively fast at 770 RPM with the muzzle velocity clocked in at 620 metre  per second without a silencer equipped and 330 metre per second with a silencer equipped(DON'T
