Got a quick recap of two stories I found interesting today and the last piece of this post will be my thoughts on the Games With Gold service for XBL Gold members.
Xbox One Release Date

After months of speculation of a release date, Microsoft has FINALLY confirmed the release date of the Xbox One.
The console will be released on November 22nd of this year, in North America the console is launching one week after the PS4 but also one week before the PS4 in Europe.
The console will launch in 13 countries, USA, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, UK, Australia and New Zealand, other territories will see the console in 2014.
Good news for the Xbox faithful.

Kojima Making "More Erotic" MGSV Characters

Hideo Kojima has asked for MGSV characters to be re-designed in order to appear "more erotic".
Kojima wrote on Twitter that he's been "ordering" art director Yoji Shinkawa to "make the character more erotic, and he did it well. Recently I've been making characters this way."
He added that his goal with characters is to "create the setting thoroughly, how he/she spent early life, name, style, favorite phrase, fashion, action to stand the character out."
By making characters this way, he continued, "The initial target is to make [you] want to do cosplay or [for] its figurine to sell well."
Kojima later announced that he will be disclosing the CG date for the character Quiet on Friday at midnight Pacific Time and asked cosplayers to "refer to that for those planning to cosplay for Quiet at TGS."
He also noted that due to becoming more erotic, "this one may not be cosplayable," asking, "What if no one [does] Quiet cosplay at TGS even though [I'm] giving the info?" He added "lol" and posted "something like this for example" with a photo of a clothed female butt........

My Thoughts on Games With Gold
Now before I go on, yes these games are free, I'm not complaining that they're free, I'm glad that Microsoft is offering this kind of service. However....
When games with gold was first started I was rather excited to use this service.
Free 360 games? Hell yeah!
And then I saw what games they offered......
Again, I do like that Microsoft is offering free games to download, I do wish though that these were games that would at least be something to get me excited for next month, but unfortunately that hasn't been the case.
The first month we were told that we would get Halo 3 and Assassin's Creed II, great games but unfortunately games I have already played (loved the hell out of) and beaten or games that a majority of Xbox 360 owners have bought, played and beaten.
In fact we didn't even get Halo 3 for free, it was swapped with Defense Grid 2 The Awakening.
My problem with the service is not that these games are free, my problem with the service is the games that are free.
These are games you would find in your local video store bin on sale for 4 bucks or less, this month Rainbow Six will be free, I have seen Rainbow Six in my local video store bin for 8 bucks. Games that no one is playing anymore or simply has not gotten as much publicity or attention as other games, games when you mention the name to a friend they might say "I've never heard of that game".
These games don't need to be recent Triple A games, they should at least be games that make you think "That game is free?! That's awesome!" like the original Borderlands, the original Dead Island, Bioshock, Castle Crashers, Hydro Thunder from XBLA and Fallout 3.
Those games would be games I would like to see offered in the future months of Games With Gold.
Different strokes for different folks, some may like the games Microsoft is offering but I'm one of those folks that don't like the games Microsoft is offering.

The only thing left to talk about is the 'more erotic' characters for MGS V.
More erotic characters to encourage cosplay?
I find that very odd that Kojima wants 'more erotic' characters in MGS V to encourage cosplay, why? Erotic characters don't necessarily make the character more desirable to cosplay, I've seen plenty of cosplay photos of cosplayers who cosplay as characters like Jill Valentine from RE 1, Rebecca Chambers also from RE 1, Elizabeth from Bioshock Infinite and Lulu from Final Fantasy X.
Can we please move on to create more iconic female characters for being strong, independent characters instead of characters we only remember because how big their boobs were or how sexy their outfit was.
I understand that every female character has a chance of becoming the subject of a sexual re-imagining but please, let's move on to making female characters who have more character than boobs?
