Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare(XB1) Review

I have to admit I was pretty surprised to see how well this game was made. Granted there are still a lot of the typical CoD tropes in the game but I'm actually pretty glad to say I had fun with this. Thank god it was nothing like Call of Duty Ghosts!!! Power Changes Everything Advanced Warfare takes place in 2054. Modern military units are equipped with Exoskeleton Suits or Exo-Suits for short. Your standard infantry man or woman can jump to high ground in an instant or dash away from enemy fire without a single bullet grazing them. You play as Jack Mitchell, a soldier once fighting for the United States Military but is approached by Jonathan Irons, father of Mitchell's recently deceased best friend. You are brought into the private military company Atlas, an organization that has proven to be more successful in stabilizing regions and win the wars that other nations could not. As the story progresses you find that not all is perfect as we learn that Irons is not...

Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor(PS4) Review

Besides the EA movie licensed games that were released with the three movies and a few spin-off titles. There hasn't really been that many games involving the Lord of The Rings universe has there? Well Shadow of Mordor seeks to change that and it will really surprise with how fun it is. But it may be because it plays a lot like another game a lot of us might have played involving a certain man in a mask. Banished from Death The story to Shadow of Mordor is a very interesting one, exciting to those who are a fan of the Lord of The Rings universe. The game centers around a Gondorian ranger, Talion, that is posted at the Black Gate. The outpost overlooking the lands of Mordor. One night the outpost is attacked by the Black Numenorean; Sauron's most elite captains in the Mordor army. Talions' family is then taken captive to be part of a ritual and is killed right in front of him. Talion is also killed, or so it seems that way. Talion is mysteriously still alive and...

Metro 2033 Redux(PS4) Review

One of the many remastered games that came out in 2014 was Metro Redux. A two for one remaster which contained 2010's Metro 2033 and 2013's Metro Last Light. I missed both titles during the 7th generation and decided to pick up the Redux after hearing good things about both games. I loaded up the game and was quickly put into the harsh and horrifying world of Metro. Welcome To The Metro The story of Metro 2033 is told through the main character Artyom as he ventures from his Metro home of VDNKh to a missile silo named D6 that may contain the firepower necessary to stop a group of creatures known as the Dark Ones. In between missions Artyom will give out information regarding the story or rumors surrounding the parts of the Metro and surface areas that Artyom is about to explore. These moments I think serve more as a time filler rather than to add to the lore of the Metro. Mostly because they are very short and don't add to the lore all that much. It is somewh...

Payday 2(360) Review

There are many games out there that are more multiplayer focused. Competitive and cooperative alike. Games like Payday 2 are games that are heavily focused on co-op play and nothing but co-op play. You would be a fool to think "I'm going to play this by myself." This is Payday 2 Maybe there's a story? There isn't really a story to Payday. I tried to figure out if there was one, to realize there really isn't one. At least to the game. There is a webseries called Payday The Webseries which does shed a little more light on why the Payday gang is currently operating in Washington D.C. and who their handler, Bain is. Don't look to play Payday 2 to find an interesting story Believable yet dated Although many of Payday 2's environments are not exactly the most up to date, keep in mind this game was released in 2013. With that said though, environments are designed in a very realistic and believable way. A lot of the street areas, banks a...

Sunset Overdrive Review

There's too many games out there that are bleak, brown and dark. Especially in terms of shooters. Thank god there's a game out there that fixes all that. Ladies and gentlemen, Sunset Overdrive. Whoops! Did we do that? An energy drink company known as Fizzco has made a new energy drink called Overcharge Delirium XT and the unfortunate, unknown side effect of drinking Overcharge is that the drink turns everyone who drinks it into a mutant. Whoops Fizzco didn't intend for that to happen, but what makes them the villain in all this is that instead of trying to fix the problem they instead lockdown all of Sunset City. The outside world doesn't know what is going on inside the city and Fizzco is pulling out all the stops to make sure no one gets out and knows what's going on, Enter you, the hero, who's job is now to survive the apocalypse by saving any and all survivors in the city and looking stylish while doing so. However, "the hero" is...

Halo: The Mast Chief Collection Review

I have been a fan of Halo ever since I got to play the first Halo game, Combat Evolved. Since then every Halo game besides 2(didn't have a working Xbox at the time) I played or I owned. Right now you go through my collection I have Halo 3, Reach and 4. Now I have Halos 1-4 thanks to The Master Chief Collection. I don't usually buy remasters but since I just got a new Xbox console and there was a remaster of all the main entries to the Halo series in one disc with access to the Halo 5 Multiplayer beta. My thought was "Why not?" But not everything is perfect in this remastering of what is probably the most iconic first person shooter. Walk in his footsteps As stated earlier, this collection has Halo 1 through 4. To serve as a quick refresher to remember just how Master Chief is going to get to where he is in Halo Guardians. Discovering the Halo ring, how the Arbiter became the Arbiter, Uncovering The Ark and learning that all Forerunners are not gone. R...

Xbox One Console Review

With the holidays upon us, many gamers who may not have already adopted a next-gen console are doing their research on which console to buy. There are a lot of factors to consider with buying a new console. So hopefully for those of you on the fence of whether or not to buy an Xbox One this year, this review helps. I'll be writing this review somewhat similarly to my PS4 console review I did last year I will be making a PS4 v Xbox One comparison, but I'll leave that for another post. Right now, I'm focusing on the Xbox One. Console Aesthetics I picked up the White Sunset Overdrive bundle Xbox One and what I noticed from the beginning is how huge the console is. It honestly reminded me of the original Xbox One It is a massive console but the console does look nice and sleek with it's white and black color design. And the design is somewhat simple. Power button and disc tray in front with all the other ports such as HDMI ports, USB ports etc. Are a...

Dust: An Elysian Tail PS4 Review

I'm really beginning to enjoy Playstation Plus. I've got to play some pretty cool games through the service. Dust: An Elysian Tail being one of them, about a few weeks ago this game was on offer for PS Plus members for free, gave it a shot and I am having so much fun with this game, I didn't play Dust on the last gen systems so I can't make a compare the last gen version of the game to the new-gen version of the game. After playing it for quite awhile. I see this game as being made by people who love games This is Dust An Elysian Tail The Lone Warrior on a Quest An Elysian Tail introduces you to a faceless warrior named Dust. A man who has no memory of who he is, where he is from and how he ended up in the middle of a forest. Almost instantly a magical sword called the Ahrah that can talk goes to Dust in order to help him discover who he is and how he lost his memory. You are also introduced to a colorful character named Fidget, a small flying animal that...

Fallout New Vegas DLC Review: Old World Blues

Continuing my campaign in Fallout New Vegas to complete the DLC packs I have found what is perhaps my favorite piece of New Vegas DLC so far. The last two pieces have missed the mark by great lengths, but Old World Blues is the closest to hitting that bullseye. B Movie Science Fiction Away! Old World Blues introduces you to the mysterious location known as Big Mountain, a secret government operated location that was used to gather the world's top notch scientists to experiment on countless things that ordinary institutions would frown upon or protest. Ever wonder how the Nightstalker's were made? What you find is a world that has a lot of things that are seen only in B Movie Science Fiction Films you would see from the 50s and 60s. Stumbling upon a strange satellite in a worn down drive-in theater, you find that you have teleported to a strange high-tech facility. You wonder around to then discover that there are "people" in this facility. You meet a...

Destiny(PS4) Review

Destiny has finally been released in full, players have already spent many hours taking out enemies, collecting loot and building up their characters to be the most powerful Titan, Hunter and Warlock in Destiny. However, Destiny is not the most perfect game the hype may have led you and many others to believe. What Story? My warlock has a horn on his head! There are several story based missions in Destiny, in name, there isn't really a story to Destiny. There technically is but all it does is establish names of characters and other beings you'll come across in your adventures, but there are no characters to connect to or a reason given to why certain locations you explore are the way there are. The establishment for a story is there, but unfortunately, Bungie doesn't take the opportunity to tell a story about the enemies you meet or characters you meet. In the Earth story missions you find out that a "war-mind" named Rasputin survived against The Da...
