Dead by Daylight(2021) Review : The "Hall of Fame of Horror"

Many many MANY years ago a good old friend of mine mentioned a game called Dead by Daylight, a multiplayer horror game that we all could try and play. I did not know a thing about it and it could have been about literally anything with horror elements.  We all played, got scared from being chased by the first killer we experienced "The Nurse" and we kept playing and playing and playing, coming back every once in awhile to see what the game has added or what has changed. Since 2016 this game has gone through many changes in gameplay balance, added a diverse array of killers some iconic and original with many perks and maps that allow for these abilities to shine and perks to be used to great advantage. Despite Dead by Daylight's downright basic gameplay loop the game still has managed to stay relevant and interesting where many other would be Dead by Daylight killers or copy cats go and fade off into the unknown or failing to capture the same success that Dead by Daylight...

Resident Evil 8 Village Review: A Resident Evil Greatest Hits Anthology

I have been a dedicated fan of the Resident Evil franchise ever since a few of my friends brought over their copy of Resident Evil 2 for the Nintendo 64. I started off not knowing how to operate the tank controls to eventually mastering it and making it past the very first area of the game and then eventually grew to beating the game multiple times and unlocking the special bonus weapons.  I would say I've played almost all the entries into the Resident Evil franchise save a few like RE:Survivor, Outbreak File 2 and the very VERY first RE game from the PS1 days.  What I've loved about the franchise is the slow burn of tension and horror along the very iconic set pieces and background music such as the 2nd half of the Dead Factory area in RE2 "The Marshaling Yard" perfectly encapsulating the industrial, futuristic mystery and horror of Umbrella's experiments and haunting atmosphere. Almost every game has something so unique about it that it can stand out in anyone...

Two-Cents Piece: Why I cannot recommend Destiny 2 Pt.1

Whenever I think of Destiny 2 I often think of games like Borderlands and Red Dead Online. Borderlands because of the variety of guns and the gun loot. Red Dead Online for the grind of roles like Collector, Bounty Hunter and Trader.  Starting with Borderlands. Ever since the first game it was apparent that this game had a massive amount of guns that would make any other shooter blush with how many guns it has. Assault Rifles, Sub-Machine Guns, Light Machine Guns, Shotguns, Sniper Rifles, Rocket Launchers, Grenades, Shields, Class Item Mods and alien guns! You finish side quests you get new weapons, complete main story missions and you get new weapons. You could play this game for an hour and depending on what you did for an hour you could almost be over-stocked with guns, so many guns you either know to keep and sell them for better weapons and gear or keep them for possible different load outs with a variety of weapons at your disposal.  With Red Dead Online, the grind, the o...

Two-Cents Piece: Why Some Horror Movies are Boring

The best episode of the entire original Twilight Zone series, in my mind, is "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet". It stars William Shatner playing a man who recently had a mental breakdown on a different flight and is struggling to stay on a flight with his wife and combating his anxiety that he feels while on the plane. Everything seems to be okay as he seems relaxed, he's making it through the flight okay until he eventually looks outside his window where he has a view of the entire wing of the plane. Out of the darkness in the stormy night comes this mysterious creature that curiously wonders around the wing until the creature spots William Shatner's character watching him as he walks around on the wing. After a little bit the monster begins to mess around with the plane's engine on the wing of the plane and William Shatner's character is helpless as he can only watch the monster get closer and closer to sabotaging the engine and struggle as he tries to convince eve...

Destiny 2 Review

Destiny 2 has been out for a few weeks now and after accumulating a good chunk of time in the game(even without completing the Raid) I figured now would be the time to give my thoughts on the game and how the game has improved since the original Destiny or if it has improved at all. To clarify, when I say original Destiny I also mean Vanilla Destiny. How the game was out of the box without any expansions or updates. The Story that actually exists So first, let's start out with what some of the criticisms of the original Destiny was and what Destiny 2 does differently. In the original Destiny there was practically no story whatsoever. There was no motivation or context to what you were doing in the story in a majority of the missions you would partake in. Why were you going to the Moon? Why were you hunting the Fallen? Why were you going to Venus to find an old archive hidden away for centuries? Your guess along with millions of other players and myself was just as good as ...

The Partisanship Bubble

Well hello everyone, I'm taking a crack at a political blog post, this may either get nasty very quickly or something that's rather sobering for many. Have you noticed that in politics today we are very divided? Many of you probably rolled your eyes and said to yourself or out loud "Gee, ya think?" and some of you sighed in sadness as it is very disheartening to acknowledge the fact that we are very divided when it comes to our politics. How it has happened, I think, is from the one thing both the members of the Democratic and Republican party have in common, a bubble. A bubble of selected information from a particular source of information and a group of friends or acquaintances that share similar political views and opinions. Those on both sides have decided to escape into these bubbles, not wanting to have anything to do with the other people outside of their own bubbles. We do not want to put ourselves in the shoes of others, not understanding why ...

Batman: Arkham Knight(PS4) Review (Spoilers!)

Oh yeah, I am really really late to the party with this review! Much like DOOM, I'm here now to review what is yet again another wonderful game. Ever since the first Arkham game no series has ever done such justice to an iconic super hero like this. It is a series I will say has given consistent quality gameplay and with each new entry making you feel more like Batman. Alas, it pains me to say that this is the last entry into the Arkham series (Yes I know Arkham VR is coming but I doubt it'll be a sequel to Arkham Knight) and it is amazing to look at this game, think about the original Arkham Asylum game and be amazed as to how far the series has come. This is how it ended....this is how the Arkham series concluded It's Time to go to War We find Gotham in the after-math of the Joker's death, following Arkham City. Crime has gone down and it seems like Gotham is in a time of peace. That is, until Scarecrow attacks. Scarecrow threatens the city with a ...
