In an article from Xbox Wire, written by Don Mattrick. Microsoft has listened to the community and how gamers felt about the always-online and used games policy. They have taken a reversed stance on these policies. This is what their new policies are. An Internet connection will not be required to play offline Xbox One Games-  According to the article the system will work like it does on the Xbox 360. " After a one-time system set-up with a new Xbox One, you can play any disc based game without ever connecting online again. Jack Tretton On The PS4: "A Consumer Focused Machine"

Good morning everyone. Playstation CEO Jack Tretton in an interview with Bloomberg TV was discussing the Playstation 4 and why it is a consumer-focused machine. It will not restrict the use of used games, require users to connect to the internet once a day. In the interview, Jack Tretton states... "We're most concerned about the consumer and we really appeal to consumers on a worldwide basis, and I think in the United States, we realize there's a high degree of broadband adoption, but we're in a lot of countries where people don't have the ability to connect on a daily basis and we want to appeal to consumers worldwide." When the subject came to the used games, Tretton said the ability to freely share titles with friends or to resell them to retailers creates value for the initial purchase. If this flexibility were to be taken away, consumers would be less likely to buy games, he said. "The other thing as it relates to the ownership of t...

Cliffy B. Strikes Again: "Sony Did Not Win E3!!"

Oh boy, here we go again. Cliff Bleszinski is at it again. Last week many of you might recall how I covered a story how Cliffy B. Was claiming that the PS4 is doomed to fail due to the used-games policy. "You cannot have game and marketing budgets this high while also having used and rental games existing. The numbers do not work people,"  Well he continued to go on and say... "I'd bet Sony has some similar stuff up their sleeves they're just playing on the internet outrage for free PR. You're all being played!" I do kind of agree with Cliff. To a degree Sony is playing on the negative PR Microsoft is getting from the gamers to become very popular, but one thing that he needs to realize is that a lot of people live on a budget, they cannot always afford to buy the latest video game that has just been released so stop condemning Sony for approaching the used-games policy differently than Microsoft. The key differences between the X...

Military On The Xbox One: "It's A Showstopper"

I'm just going to jump into this story here... In an article on the NavyTimes.com , Navy Lieutenant Scott Metcalf was eagerly awaiting the arrival of the new Xbox One. Now he's not even sure if he'll buy one. Gaming is actually a big part of military downtime, the Xbox 360 is actually pretty popular with the military, but when it came to the DRM policies of  Xbox One the Lieutenant called these policies a "showstopper" for any service member who rely on their Xbox for off-duty diversions downrange, in the field, or at sea. Aboard a ship or overseas, military members might not be able to play their next gen console. "With Xbox One you can game offline for up to 24 hours on your primary console, or one hour if you are logged on to a separate console accessing your library. Offline gaming is not possible after these prescribed times until you re-establish a connection," An Xbox spokesperson told Military Times. What are the troops not ...
