 The game many gamers love to hate but secretly love and the game that probably set off the live service craze, Destiny 2, is in trouble....again From a technical standpoint Destiny 2 is doing pretty well I would say. Servers are running well, not too many game breaking bugs or glitches going on. Telesto works and is still available in the game to be used in PVE and PVP. When you get hit by a melee attack you don't go flying through the world like a brick nor do you fall through the game world just because you jump in a weird way and gear is not randomly disappearing from people's vaults. The problem Destiny 2 is facing is not technical but instead is enthusiasm and trust. The player count in Destiny 2 is dropping and as of now it is at the lowest point it has ever been and the trust from the community is also very low.  Many years ago my girlfriend at the time surprised me with a gift copy of Alien Isolation for the Playstation 4. We ended up playing it together (meaning I played it and she watched) and I remember liking the experience and feeling very immersed into the world that Alien Isolation created. It was almost as if we were smack dab in the world that Ridley Scott had created with his film Alien back from 1979.  Once upon a time, many years ago, there once existed this place in towns and cities everywhere called "Video Stores" some of these stores were chains of franchises like Hollywood Video and Blockbuster. When you hear "Free to Play" the first things that immediately pop into your head is a game that is very repetitive, very grind and heavy with microtransactions. You might have heard something about HBO's latest show "The Last of Us". You are probably hearing how it is a wonderful attempt at adapting a video game to live-action format. You are probably hearing that it is doing a good job of telling the story from the video game that was a major success within the gaming industry WAY back in twenty thirteen. Only a handful of games have been given the award by the community in the gaming industry and the industry itself in having a masterfully told story with a brilliant cast of characters with a brilliant cast of actors.  The Marvel Cinematic Universe was a truly enjoyable ten years of comic book movies because what made the Marvel Cinematic "Phases" different from movies like Batman '89 and the Dark Knight Trilogy was that each movie in the MCU was connected to each other in one way or another. The Infinity Saga connected the discovery of the Infinity Stones with the main big bad of Thanos. For ten years, audiences watched The Avengers fight people either using Infinity Stones to wreak havoc on the world or stop efforts to find an Infinity Stone for such power.  After Avengers Endgame, the story continued for the MCU.  When it comes to the live action Resident Evil adaptations, ask any fan of the series and they'll tell you that they have never gotten it right. Ask a fan who was there since they first tried to adapt Resident Evil to the big screen and they will tell you they have not gotten right since 2002. Think about that, for the last twenty years Capcom and whatever studio that they gave the rights to have not done the Resident Evil franchise any justice when it comes to live action cinematic outings. To be fair, the first two live action Resident Evil films were not that good but they were at least enjoyable in that the new story they told was at least something you could see in a Resident Evil game and Resident Evil Apocalypse did cover the Raccoon City outbreak with a pretty faithful and practically designed Nemesis with legacy characters like Jill Valentine and Carlos Oliveira.  When The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was released 11 years ago (let that sink in for a bit) it was an incredible gaming phenomenon that was something truly beautiful to witness and admire. Everyone who played Skyrim was presented with a gorgeous world with good story telling and an immersive experience that put other open world games on point to try and do a better job than this. Players were not just experiencing a quality game but also going on a great adventure with an insane amount of possibilities to happen in one session.  Friends would come to school with exploits of caves and dungeons explored resulting in the discovery of powerful enemies and incredible rewards like weapons, armor or new dragon shouts to enhance the player's dragon-born abilities.  So if  you have read my past posts about Destiny 2 or really heard any honest yet faithful Destiny fan, it should be no surprise that Destiny is a hard game to love not only privately but also publicly. Privately, many a player such as myself can play the game but think often at times "Man I could be playing Final Fantasy 14 or ANY other game right now but I just want to play this right now and use space magic to find a new awesome space gun to fight space monsters".
