My Thoughts On The Next Generation Of Gaming

Hello everyone. Thank you for taking a moment to read my post. This is not going to be a very lengthy post. I have written on the 8th generation before. A majority of talking points when discussing the 8th generation I've already talked about. With that said. Let's get to the point. The next generation of console gaming is almost upon us. In 3 weeks the next generation will begin with the release of the Playstation 4. Many of us have made our pre-orders. Reserved our special bundles and are waiting eagerly for the next generation. I am as excited as the next guy or gal gamer but I want to give my 2 cents on what I think we will begin to see this next generation. In my opinion, I think we will begin to see new genres of games. New levels of immersion that some games could only imagine of reaching in the last generation. We're seeing it now with the Dual Shock 4 touch pad being used in Infamous: Second Son as a fingerprint scanner to progress in the game. Th...

Doom 3: BFG Edition Review

Hello everyone. Doom. The grandfather of the FPS genre that sets you against the legions of Hell. It was the FPS game that everyone talked about in the early 90s. It was the most popular FPS of the 90s, so popular that it was ported to every console available at the time. The Sega 32x, Atari Jaguar, Gameboy Advance, Super Nintendo and the PSX. Doom is the most iconic FPS game of the FPS genre. Sure, Call of Duty may be the most popular FPS game of the genre, but it still has nothing on Doom. I recently had the opportunity to play the BFG Edition of Doom 3. A version of the game that had Doom 3, the expansion to Doom 3 "Resurrection of Evil" a bonus expansion "Lost Missions" and Dooms 1&2. Let's begin. Story It is the year 2145. You play as a marine who has been transferred to Mars City, a UAC research facility currently in the process of making Mars a second Earth. While there, you discover that there have been many accidents on the base tha...

Top 5 Games To Play During The Halloween Season

Good afternoon everyone! Well it's that time of the year again. The time of year where we all dress up as our favorite characters or horrifying creatures to walk out into the night and knock on strangers' doors for free candy. The time of year where we decorate our front yards with cobwebs, skeletons and grave stones. So, being a gamer what I like to do around this time of the year is to play horror themed video games. Games that seem absolutely perfect to play around Halloween. Today I have comprised a list of 5 games you should consider playing during the Halloween season. These are the Top 5 Games To Play During Halloween. Number 5 DOOM 64  Of all the Doom titles I've played in the past. None of them stands out more like Doom 64 for the Nintendo 64. The original Doom is a classic, but, Doom 64 gets the horror of Doom done right. The music, the atmosphere and of course the demons you encounter in the game. To me, Doom 64 fits perfectly into H...

Battlefield 4 Beta Impressions

Evening everyone. Today is the launch of the Battlefield 4 Beta. An early launch for those who have Pre-ordered BF4, who have a Premium subscription and for anyone who has the Medal of Honor War Fighter Limited Edition Online Pass. I have the MOHWF Online Pass on my 360 hard drive so that's how I got early access. Let me just start off my impressions with two words. GOOD GOD! The first obvious thing that was glaring at me was that the game looks amazing. The leap from Frostbite Engine 2 to Frostbite Engine 3 is actually very huge. Although you can't see Frostbite 3 pushed to it's whole potential on the console version. The game still looks amazing, I must admit I was expecting a little bit more of Battlefield 3 when coming into the beta. The beta feels nothing like Battlefield 3; it doesn't even look like Battlefield 3. This truly is an entirely new Battlefield experience. Nothing feels even remotely the same as Battlefield 3. I actually jumped into ...

Call of Juarez: Gunslinger Review(2013)

Hello everyone. I  recently finished Call of Juarez: Gunslinger.  I mean that quite literally, I finished my first playthrough not 20 minutes ago(when you guys read this it will be much later). How was it? It was very fun. Story Call of Juarez: Gunslinger takes place in 1910. A bounty hunter by the name of Silas Greaves stops in a saloon to take a break before he continues the job he's on. The patrons recognize his name and begin to ask him questions about his past adventures in his early days as a bounty hunter. Silas Greaves tells the story of his past. How he became a bounty hunter and why. Who was he after in his past adventures? Who has he hunted down and who has he killed? Is anything he's telling true? It's a great western story to be listened to. What's unique about the story however is how it is told. In most games, the story is told between cutscenes. You play a mission, finish it and the story continues. Not in Gunslinger, the story of Gunsl...

Battlefield 3: Premium Edition Review (Released September 11th 2012)

As we approach the launch of the Battlefield 4 Beta. It is time we say goodbye to Battlefield 3. In anticipation of Battlefield 4, I picked up the Premium Edition a few weeks ago. I've rented BF3 in the past but I finally went through with owning it. I'm glad I finally bought this game. For this review I will be going over the Campaign, Presentation and Multiplayer and the Premium aspect of this particular edition of BF3. I will not be covering every piece of DLC but I will mention what you gain access to if you purchase the Premium Edition to Battlefield 3. Let's begin. Campaign The Campaign to Battlefield 3 is one aspect of Battlefield 3 that is made rather poorly. The Campaign's story will be very familiar to many COD players. In the story of Battlefield 3 you are being interrogated by two people from the FBI. The main character, Sgt.Blackburn tells the story through flashbacks. You find out through Blackburn's story that he was sent to investigat...

The GTA V Review from Gamespot

Hello everyone. So yesterday(and today) has been  a great day for Rockstar and their latest masterpiece Grand Theft Auto V 10 out of 10s, 5 out of 5s and other high scores from reviewers all over the internet. On Metacritic the game is getting really good scores. 98 for the 360 version and a 97 on the PS3 version(don't ask me about the one point difference, I don't understand it either). I watched the Adam Sessler review on Rev3Games, 5 out of 5. IGN video review was done by Keza MacDonald, 10 out of 10. I recently watched Gamespot's review on Grand Theft Auto V, 9 out of 10. Reviewed by Carolyn Pettit, the game lost a point due to the erratic behavior of the three characters, they would take the moral high ground one moment but then sink to the lowest form of morality the next because the game dictated it. That 1 point off of a perfect score did not make people happy, right now there is 2,982 likes and 4,334 dislikes, take a guess as to why that is. The comm...
