RetroGazetteReviews: Super Metroid(1994)

Hello everybody. Amongst my PS4 gaming I also snuck in some time in Super Metroid that I bought off of the Nintendo Shop on the Wii. I don't know why, but I suddenly got the urge to play Super Metroid around the holidays. So guess what I did over Winter Break? This is Super Metroid for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Story After Samus Aran delivers the Metroid hatchling, which she found on the planet SR388 , she delivers the baby Metroid to the Ceres Space Colony for research.  As she's leaving the Colony, she receives a distress signal from the Colony. She returns to find all the scientists dead and the Metroid hatchling gone. Samus, dwelling deeper into the colony, finds the baby in the capsule but is being held by the Space Pirate leader Ridley. After a small fight, Samus fights off Ridley. Before the fight is over, Ridley triggers the self-destruct sequence on the Colony fleeing with the baby Metroid. Samus manages to escape and follow Ridley t

My Opinion on Nintendo's Wii U Situation

Hello everyone. Before I continue into this blog. No! I am not a Sony fanboy I am not a Microsoft fanboy and I am not a PC fanboy. I only have one Sony console, the PS4. I only have 1 Microsoft console, the Xbox 360 and I have 3 Nintendo consoles. The Nintendo 64, which was my first games console. The Nintendo Gamecube and Nintendo Wii. You could look through my gaming collection and find I have way more Nintendo games then 360 games. If anything, technically you could call me a Nintendo fanboy but that's besides the point. Unfortunately to many of us it is no surprise to many of us that lately Nintendo has been struggling to sell the Wii U. Although the 3DS is selling at a dominating rate. http://www.gamespot.com/articles/3ds-sales-reach-11-5-million-in-us-alone-nintendo-calls-system-a-powerhouse/1100-6417058/ The Wii U on the other hand is not, Nintendo has had to cut the 9 million units sold  projection to 2.8 million http://techcrunch.com/2014/01/17/wii-u-not

GazetteGamerReviews: Killzone:Shadowfall

Hello everyone. I recently have had the opportunity to play Killzone:Shadowfall. Shadowfall is actually the first Killzone title I have actually owned on a Playstation console. I did play the original Killzone on the PS2 and I loved it. Playing split-screen with my friend against the bots after school was a fun time. I looked forward to owning Shadowfall, unfortunately I found out Shadowfall does not support split-screen and fighting offline bots. Then I played the campaign to Shadowfall to be disappointed even more. Campaign The campaign to Killzone Shadowfall gameplay wise is actually very lack luster. It's not very exciting when it comes to the combat it's rather lack luster and is a straight forward shooter with some twists. Take cover, shoot, take cover, shoot. There are missions that change up the formula with missions restricting you to only use a few weapons or making the player use their stealth abilities to avoid direct confrontation and zero-g miss

Battlefield 4 Weapon Guides:AK-12 Assault Rifle

Hello everyone. Welcome to my first in the series of Battlefield 4 Weapon Guides. I'm actually quite excited to be starting a new weapon guide series. Today, we'll be covering the default unlock of the Assault Rifle category. The AK-12. Profile The AK-12, formerly the AK-200, is the latest Russian assault rifle derived of the infamous Kalashnikov AK-47. The AK-12 uses the same gas-operated long-stroke piston system of previous Kalashnikov based rifles, but this new Kalashnikov rifle has some new designs that make it vastly different from the other rifles in the family. For starters, the light version of the rifle can swap calibers by a quick change of the barrel, you can change from the 5.45x39mm caliber to the 7.62x39mm caliber and the 5.56x45mm caliber. Ergonomically the AK-12 is also different from previous designs. The AK-12 stock is telescoping, in-line with the barrel for better recoil control. What that means is that the stock of the weapon can be fold

The "Why?" Collection

Hello everybody. I'm taking a small break from video game reviews and weapon guides to just talk about a few things that made me question the world again. Also, to ask the question... " Why?" Why do these things exist, why do people do this all the time, why is this like this and like that. First on the list... Why does the iPotty exist? Yes folks, this is something that exists. A toddler's toilet with a stand meant for an iPad to be placed in front of your toddler. Meant to " Give your children a comfortable and fun way to potty train,"  No, I am not making this up, this is something that has been advertised and is listed on sites like Amazon and Target. First of all, what in the world is your 3 year old going to do on the iPad? Play Temple Run? The iPotty is just....well....stupid. I have asked everyone I know about the iPotty and all they do is shake their head and say the same thing "It's stupid." I agree. Techn

GazetteGamerReviews: Call of Duty:Ghosts(2013)

Hello everyone! I want to clear something up, if there are those of you who have read my past comments about Ghosts you know that I said I would not buy Ghosts. It's true, I didn't buy Ghosts, it was an early Christmas present I got so me and my brother could have a split-screen game to play. At first I was skeptical, but then again I thought that this was good to try out something new. Not the game of course, no, COD isn't going to change any time soon. What I mean by new was playing a COD game on a Playstation console. I have never played COD on a Playstation console, in the past, it was always the Xbox console to be "the best place to play COD" mainly due to the 360 controller. So I sat down, turned my PS4 on and saw what COD has done for the next generation.....not a lot. Campaign The campaign to COD:Ghosts actually does not start off like most other COD campaigns. In fact, the story for starters is much different than past Infinity Ward CO

Battlefield 4(PS4 Ver.) Review

Happy New Year everyone!!! Welcome to 2014! I hope you all had a good Christmas and a good New Year's Eve. I also hope that those of you who managed to get a hold of a PS4 or Xbox One this holiday season have been enjoying your next-gen console. I know I have, because the first game I purchased and played on the PS4 was Battlefield 4. What better way to break in the new console? Quick note, I'm not going to do the usual Story  section of my reviews anymore. I'll be changing it to Campaign. These sections will be an overview of the single-player campaign. Let's begin. Campaign  BF4's campaign sets you in the boots of Sargent Reker, a faceless/voiceless character that is in charge of the squad Tombstone. A character, like past nameless/faceless characters in BF3's campaign. Is the master of any and all military equipment. The campaign is definitely improved from Battlefield 3's campaign. For starters, you can actually destroy the env
